Shapes

We are moving on to learn about the next element of art, shape.  This week the kindergartners looked at block shapes.  They built a tower.  Then they traced shapes to be cut out.  The cut out shapes will be used to make a shape tower out of paper.  This is a great project for tracing, cutting, and gluing skills.

Kindergarten Mondrian

Kindergarten learned all about horizontal and vertical lines.  We talked about the primary colors too.  Plus they had a small introduction to artist Piet Mondrian.  Check out their Mondrian display hanging right now at school.  Ask your students what they see in their picture.  I had a lot of great answers in class.
